Price War Now! Eid Holiday Train Tickets Executive-Panoramic Class Heavily Discounted
Jakarta – PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Regional Operations 1 Jakarta has recorded sustained growth in long-distance train ticket sales for the 2026 Eid holiday travel season (11 March to 1 April). As of 8 March 2026, 625,231 tickets had been sold or booked from a total of 1,076,196 available seats departing from Gambir and Pasar Senen stations.
With this performance, seat occupancy has reached 58% temporarily, with 423,965 seats still available for passengers undertaking travel during the mudik and return journey periods.
KAI Regional Operations 1 Jakarta’s public relations manager, Franoto Wibowo, stated that the departure period of 11–20 March 2026 recorded the highest sales period, with 422,274 tickets sold. The peak sales dates included 18 March with 49,057 tickets sold, followed by 19 March with 48,291 tickets, 17 March with 47,986 tickets, and 16 March with 47,217 tickets.
“On these popular dates, remaining seat availability is highly limited and approaching full capacity. For example, on 18 March only 2,435 seats remained, then 20 March with 2,708 seats, and 19 March with 2,998 seats,” Franoto explained.
Based on service class, current seat availability includes:
Executive: total capacity 510,527 seats, 268,587 remaining
Commercial Economy: total capacity 446,965 seats, 144,227 remaining
PSO Economy: total capacity 118,704 seats, 38,142 remaining
By travel period, departures on 11–20 March had only 81,797 remaining seats, whilst 21–22 March had 22,429 seats available. For departures from 23 March to 1 April, 364,730 tickets remained available.
Beyond providing substantial travel capacity, KAI is also introducing attractive fare promotional programmes to support public mobility during the holiday season. Through the Mudik Promotion scheme, passengers can obtain discounts of up to 30% on ticket purchases on 9 March 2026 for travel periods of 9–20 March 2026, subject to applicable terms and conditions.
KAI is also offering a flash sale accessible via the Access by KAI mobile application on 9 March 2026 from 16:30 to 17:30 WIB, with special fares including:
Panoramic starting from Rp600,000
Executive starting from Rp300,000
Economy starting from Rp150,000
Flash sale fares apply to departures from 9–20 March 2026 with limited quota. Additionally, the government is providing economic stimulus in the form of 30% transport discounts on commercial economy class train tickets for the period 14–29 March 2026. Nationally, approximately 1.2 million seats have been prepared, whilst Regional Operations 1 Jakarta specifically has 329,000 seats available, with approximately 77,000 seats remaining for public use.
During the 2026 Eid holiday travel season, KAI Regional Operations 1 Jakarta is operating an average of 68 regular long-distance train services daily, supplemented by 12 additional services from Gambir Station, 7 additional services from Pasar Senen Station, and 4 free motor train services. Popular services from Gambir Station include the Pandalungan, Argo Semeru, Gunungjati, Cakrabuana, Pangandaran, and Batavia trains.
From Pasar Senen Station, popular services include the Bengawan, Airlangga, Serayu, Kertajaya, Jayakarta, and Progo trains.
