Preventing Violations: Adi Arnawa Provides Traffic Education and Helmets for Students
The Badung Regency Government is striving to reduce the number of road accidents that frequently involve the productive age group. This effort is being implemented through preventive actions within school environments. This step was realised when the Regent of Badung, I Waylam Adi Arnawa, led the 55th National Transportation Day (Harhubnas) assembly at SMAN 2 Abiansemal on Monday (14/09/2026).
“I want to invite us all to use the 2026 National Transportation Day as a momentum to increase awareness that traffic safety is a shared responsibility,” said Adi Arnawa.
“Be students who are orderly in traffic: use helmets when riding motorcycles, obey traffic signs, do not use mobile phones while driving, and always respect other road users,” urged the former Badung Regional Secretary.
During the occasion, Adi Arnawa also distributed safety helmets to students. The distribution of these helmets serves as a symbol of collaboration between the Badung Regency Government, the police, BPTD Class II Bali, Jasa Raharja, and schools to minimise the fatality rate of accident victims.
Adi Arnawa emphasised that students should not view traffic violations as a form of bravery, but rather as recklessness that threatens their future.
“Remember, arriving at your destination safely is far more important than arriving quickly,” Adi Arnawa told hundreds of students, teachers, the Badung Police Chief, the Head of PT Jasa Raharja Denpasar Branch, the Abiansemal District Head, and local traditional leaders.
This safety socialisation and education in schools is also part of the series of activities for the 55th Harhubnas, which focuses on character building for the younger generation. In addition to student development, the Badung Transportation Agency (Dishub) previously organised troop assemblies, social actions, and mass cleaning of traffic sign facilities along Jalan Kartika Plaza Kuta since Thursday (10/09/2026).
“So today, in conjunction with the 55th Harhubnas which falls on 17 September, the activities in Badung are focused at SMAN 2 Abiansemal, while simultaneously socialising traffic safety and nurturing the younger generation,” said the Head of the Badung Transportation Agency, Anak Agung Gde Rahmadi.
Instilling an understanding of driving regulations from school age is considered crucial so that students possess legal awareness when fully active within society. The hope is that students who understand these rules will pass on the culture of orderly traffic to their surroundings as they grow into adulthood.
“This is being done so that when the younger generation enters society, they can comply with traffic regulations. If the younger generation understands, they will eventually become adults and will pass that understanding on to others,” explained Rahmadi.
Through the expansion of education among the youth, the Badung Regency Government aims to create road conditions that are more organised and free from the threat of accidents. This culture of discipline is expected to realise a safe and sustainable transportation system.
