JAKARTA - Rendy (20), a resident of Cibubur in East Jakarta, says he is pleased with the existence of the skatepark under the Pasar Rebo Flyover in Ciracas, East Jakarta.

“Before this existed, we had to find our own spots. Sometimes we played on the streets, on pavements, looking for stairs or slopes that could be used,” Rendy said at the Pasar Rebo Underpass Skatepark on Friday (8/5/2026).

Rendy mentioned that the skatepark under the Pasar Rebo Flyover has been around since 2021.

“In the past, we often had to flee from PPSU and Satpol PP. If caught, our skateboards could be confiscated,” he said with a laugh.

According to Rendy, the skatepark under the Pasar Rebo Flyover is already quite adequate for training.

“It can reduce brawls because the kids turn to their hobbies. We can gather together while honing our skills. Rather than on the streets, which can easily spark fights,” Rendy said.

Rendy explained that the skatepark is open to residents who want to skateboard because it is not locked and is open 24 hours a day.

“We help maintain it, sometimes some equipment gets damaged, like a rail, we weld it, we clean it. Sometimes there are obstacles from friends that we add,” he said.
