Preventing an outbreak
The recent polio outbreak that hit some rural areas in West Java drove anxious mothers to the health posts with their children in tow for the free oral polio vaccination on Tuesday.
Although the vaccination program only covered the provinces of Jakarta, West Java and Banten there was high hope that some children had already been protected from this paralyzing disease.
And due to the positive response shown by the mothers, the health workers ran out of vaccine, thus many children missed the chance and some others will have to wait almost a month to be vaccinated.
