Prevent accidents: homeward-bound private vehicle drivers advised to rest every four hours
Tangerang — The Health Department (Dinkes) of Tangerang City, Banten Province, recommends that homeward-bound travellers rest every four hours or whenever feeling tired and drowsy if operating private vehicles, to maintain health and safety during their journey.
“Mudik journeys typically take considerable time and are exhausting. Therefore, travellers need to prepare their health condition properly before departure and maintain a healthy lifestyle throughout the journey,” said Dini Anggraeni, Head of Tangerang City Health Department, in Tangerang on Tuesday.
She stated that travellers can also take advantage of the Free Health Check (CKG) before undertaking the journey to ensure their physical condition is sound.
“Also use a mask if feeling unwell to prevent disease transmission to others. Frequently wash your hands using soap and running water to maintain hygiene and prevent disease spread,” said Dini.
She also reminded travellers not to overexert themselves whilst driving and to utilise available health facilities along mudik routes should they experience any health concerns.
“Utilise the health posts available along mudik routes if you experience health complaints, and avoid smoking and second-hand smoke to protect your own health and that of those around you,” said Dini Anggraeni, Head of Tangerang City Health Department.
