Prevent Accidents from Drowsiness: Mudik Travellers Must Rest After 4 Hours of Travel
With the 2026 Lebaran homecoming period approaching, the Tangerang City Health Department (Dinkes) has released safety guidelines for the public. One crucial point is the recommendation for drivers to rest every four hours in order to avoid fatigue and drowsiness that could trigger accidents.
Tangerang City Health Department head Dini Anggraeni emphasised that healthy travel tips begin with physical preparation before departure. “Travellers need to prepare their health condition properly before leaving and maintain a healthy lifestyle during the journey,” she said in Tangerang on Tuesday 17 March.
The public is encouraged to utilise the Free Health Check service available at various locations throughout Tangerang City. This service is important to ensure blood pressure, blood sugar levels, and general body condition are suitable for undertaking long-distance travel.
Healthy Travel Tips During the Mudik Journey:
Do not eat indiscriminately, and do not consume food and drinks from unknown persons.
Ensure adequate rest every four hours to combat fatigue and drowsiness.
