Pretrial Motion of Lodewyk Pusung Rejected, Corruption Suspect Status in Free Nutritious Meals Programme Stands

The South Jakarta District Court has rejected the pretrial motion filed by former Deputy Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Lodewyk Pusung, seeking to annul his suspect status in the alleged corruption case involving the governance of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme. Judge Abdul Affandi stated that the court did not have the authority to adjudicate the petition and declared the pretrial motion inadmissible. With this ruling, Lodewyk Pusung’s suspect status remains in effect, and the investigation conducted by the Attorney General’s Office will continue. During the trial, the Attorney General’s Office revealed that an audit by the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) found indications of budgetary waste amounting to Rp10.5 trillion per year in the management of the MBG programme.
