Press Council holds joint prayer for five journalists who lost contact

The Press Council held a joint prayer and solidarity action at the Press Council Hall in Jakarta on Monday (21/09/2026). The event was organised to pray for the safety and a miracle for five journalists and three crew members of the fast boat KM Arupadatu I, who lost contact while covering the volcanic activity of Mount Anak Krakatau in the waters of the Sunderm Strait on 7 September 2026.

During the event, the Chairman of the Press Council, Komaruddin Hidayat, met with the families of the missing journalists. The gathering served as a moment of reflection and solidarity for the families of those lost during the reporting mission.
