President's bodyguard dies in duel

JAKARTA: One of the President's bodyguards was stabbed to death by his friend in a fight on Jl. Pangeran Jayakarta in Sawah Besar, Central Jakarta, at 5 a.m. on Monday.

Zulkifli, 30, sustained three stab wounds to his head, neck, and right shoulder. According to his girlfriend Dewi, who witnessed the fight, Zulkifli died in a bajaj (three-wheeled motorized vehicle) on his way to the nearest hospital.

Chief of the Central Jakarta Police, detective Comr. Ch. Patoppoi, said on Monday that the police were hunting for the killer, identified as Sw.

"A witness said that the killer and his victim were involved in a brawl the previous night," said Pattopoi. "The following morning, SW searched for Zulkifli and found him in Sawah Besar". --JP
