Presidential Staff Office pushes for immediate operation of Jatiluhur 'Red and White' Cooperative
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Presidential Staff Office (KSP) is pushing for the accelerated operational launch of the Red and White Village/Sub-district Cooperative (KDKMP) in Jatiluhur, Purwakarta Regency, West Java, after reviewing the cooperative’s facilities so that its services can soon be utilised by the local community.
Head of the Presidential Staff Office Dudung Abdurachman said that, overall, the physical readiness of the building along with the cooperative’s facilities and infrastructure was good, although a number of operational equipment items still needed to be completed.
“Physically, this is already good, and the other facilities and infrastructure are in place. The clinic and three-wheeled motorbikes are available, but the supporting equipment for operations is not yet fully provided,” Dudung said in a written statement quoted in Jakarta on Monday.
He expressed hope that PT Agrinas Pangan Nusantara would promptly supply the operational needs of the Jatiluhur KDKMP, including medical equipment to be used at the cooperative’s polyclinic, so that services to the community could run optimally.
Dudung stressed that the existence of the Jatiluhur KDKMP, as part of President Prabowo’s priority programme, is expected to cut distribution chains so that people’s basic needs can be obtained at cheaper and more affordable prices.
“My hope is that this KDKMP will truly benefit the surrounding community, with cheap and affordable prices for the public. More importantly, I hope this cooperative can genuinely provide benefits for all the residents here,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Jatiluhur KDKMP, Eki, said the people of Jatiluhur Village are awaiting confirmation of the cooperative’s operational launch date, as its presence is expected to meet residents’ needs.
“We hope it will soon be confirmed when we can begin operations, first and foremost because it is being eagerly awaited by the residents of Jatiluhur Village,” Eki said.
According to the KSP, the government, together with regional administrations and relevant agencies, is committed to accelerating the development of KDKMPs in other villages so that the economic benefits of cooperatives can be felt evenly across the whole of Purwakarta.
The Jatiluhur KDKMP was chosen as the inspection site because construction of the outlet on a 1,000-square-metre plot of land has been 100 per cent completed. Located within the Jatiluhur Reservoir national tourism area, the cooperative is being prepared as a distribution hub for local products, a marketing platform for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and a means of strengthening the community’s food supply chain.
