Presidential Staff Office Ensures Beneficiary Feedback Informs Free Nutritious Meals Evaluation
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Presidential Chief of Staff General TNI (Ret) Dudung Abdurachman has assured that input from beneficiaries will form part of the evaluation to strengthen governance of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme currently being implemented.
During an inspection by the Presidential Staff Office (KSP) at State Elementary School 3 Ciseureuh, Purwakarta, West Java, on Monday, Dudung said the government continues to strengthen the governance of the MBG programme run by the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) in line with President Prabowo Subianto’s instructions.
“Input from beneficiaries is an important part of the evaluation to continuously improve the quality of the Free Nutritious Meal programme,” he said.
He emphasised that the governance-strengthening efforts comply with Circular Letter Number 12 of 2026 issued by the National Nutrition Agency.
To ensure the improvements have been implemented, his office on Monday inspected the Ciseureuh 8 Nutrition Service Fulfilment Unit (SPPG) as well as the implementation of MBG at State Elementary School 3 Ciseureuh, coinciding with the first day of the new school term and the School Environment Introduction Period (MPLS).
The first day of school also marks the resumption of MBG distribution, which had previously been suspended during the pupil holiday period.
“The President’s instructions are very clear: the programme must continue running, its benefits must be increasingly felt by the public, and the quality of its implementation must also be improved. For that reason, the Presidential Staff Office is playing an active role in oversight to ensure all improvements are genuinely implemented in the field,” said Dudung.
Previously, the government imposed a moratorium on the construction of new SPPGs and operational adjustments during the school holidays as part of efforts to reform MBG governance.
During that period, the BGN focused on a comprehensive evaluation of SPPG operations, covering service quality, production capacity, compliance with facility and infrastructure standards, and the appropriateness of beneficiary selection.
