Presidential Staff Office Ensures Beneficiary Feedback Informs Free Nutritious Meals Evaluation

The Presidential Staff Office (KSP) has assured that input from beneficiaries will be part of the evaluation to strengthen the governance of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme currently being implemented. During a visit to SD Negeri 3 Ciseureuh in Purwakarta, West Java, on Monday, Chief of the Presidential Staff, General (Ret.) Dudung Abdurachman, stated that the government continues to improve the management of the MBG programme run by the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), in line with President Prabowo Subianto’s directives. “Feedback from beneficiaries is an important part of the evaluation to continuously improve the quality of the Free Nutritious Meals Programme,” he said. He emphasised that the governance strengthening efforts adhere to BGN Circular Letter Number 12 of 2026. To ensure improvements have been implemented, the KSP inspected the Ciseureuh 8 Nutrition Fulfilment Service Unit (SPPG) and the implementation of MBG at SD Negeri 3 Ciseureuh, which coincided with the first day of school and the School Environment Introduction Period (MPLS). The first day of school also marked the resumption of MBG distribution after a hiatus during the student holiday period. “The President’s directive is very clear: the programme must continue, its benefits must be increasingly felt by the community, and the quality of its implementation must be enhanced,” Dudung said. He added that the KSP is playing an active role in overseeing the programme to ensure that all improvements are effectively carried out on the ground. Previously, the government imposed a moratorium on the construction of new SPPGs and made operational adjustments during the school holidays as part of efforts to improve MBG governance. During that period, BGN focused on a comprehensive evaluation of SPPG operations, covering service quality, production capacity, and compliance with facility and infrastructure standards, as well as the accuracy of beneficiary data.
