Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Presidential Staff Office (KSP) together with the Ministry of Cooperatives (Menkop) is evaluating the implementation of the Red and White Village/Sub-district Cooperatives (KDKMP) programme to ensure the President’s priority programme runs on target.

Head of the Presidential Staff Office Dudung Abdurachman, at Bina Graha, the Presidential Palace complex in Jakarta, Friday, stated that the coordination meeting discussed the progress of cooperative development as well as resolving various obstacles in the field.

“The arrival of the Minister of Cooperatives and the Director of Agrinas, including from the TNI Territorial Staff, is to hold a coordination meeting on the development process of the Red and White Village Cooperatives, which are currently underway, some have been completed, and some are even operational,” said Dudung.

The meeting was attended by Minister of Cooperatives Ferry Joko Juliantono, President Director of Agrinas Pangan Nusantara Angelo De Sousa, and officials from the TNI Territorial Staff.

According to him, various obstacles in the field have been communicated and coordinated with Agrinas and the Ministry of Cooperatives so that the programme implementation can run more optimally.

“We will fully support overcoming these obstacles in the field so that the development process, optimisation process, and mechanisms on the ground can run well,” he said.

On the same occasion, Minister of Cooperatives Ferry Joko Juliantono said his party received various inputs from the KSP to refine the implementation of the programme, which is now entering the physical construction phase, including warehouses, outlets, and other supporting facilities.

“We received very important input for the refinement and improvement of the formation of the Red and White Village Cooperatives, and we are now entering the physical construction phase for warehouses, outlets, and their equipment,” said Ferry.

He conveyed that one of the recommendations resulting from the meeting is the need to immediately issue a presidential regulation for the operationalisation of the Red and White Village Cooperatives.

In addition, the meeting participants also agreed to conduct direct inspections of 1,061 pilot cooperatives in various regions to ensure their operations run according to plan.

“We will conduct direct checks, especially on the 1,061 cooperatives that have been operationalised in Nganjuk Regency, so that they can run better,” Ferry said.
