Makassar (ANTARA) - Presidential Special Advisor for the Creative Economy, Yovie Widianto, emphasised that the relationship between humans and technology should be collaborative. During his public lecture at Hasanuddin University in Tamalanrea, Makassar, on Thursday, Yovie stated that creativity remains the primary domain of humans, while artificial intelligence (AI) functions as a partner that accelerates processes without replacing the essence of creation. He explained that a work can be created in just minutes by artificial intelligence, marking a strong indication that the global creativity landscape is undergoing fundamental change. However, amid this acceleration, humans are required to reaffirm their role, not merely as creators, but as interpreters in every creative process. Yovie also emphasised that ideas arise from sensitivity in reading contexts, discipline in processing experiences, and courage to try new things. He stressed that the creative process is a long journey that cannot be reduced to mere instant results. “Innovation does not always have to be spectacular. Rather, the ability to think adaptively, solution-oriented, and to provide added value becomes an important foundation in building a sustainable creative economy ecosystem,” Yovie explained at the event themed “Creative Generation: Turning Ideas, Culture, and Creativity into Global IP”. At the public lecture held in the Arsjad Rasjid Lecture Theater on the Tamalanrea campus, Yovie also highlighted that Indonesia’s challenge is not merely adopting technology, but ensuring that innovations remain rooted in culture and strengthen national identity on a global level.
