President Prabowo Subianto convened and held a gathering with all his former aides and security personnel from his service in Kostrad and Kopassus, or during his active service in the Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI) thirty years ago. The gathering took place at Prabowo’s private residence in Hambalang, Bogor, West Java, on Sunday, 8 March 2026.

“Some of these aides and security personnel are still active TNI personnel today. There are also those who have retired but are employed in his private companies,” wrote Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, as quoted from the Cabinet Secretariat’s Instagram account on Monday, 9 March 2026.

“Not only that. One of them also recounted that his son, who was educated by the President, has now graduated and obtained employment,” he added.

Marathon meetings

On the same day, Prabowo held five separate meetings calling upon several ministers from the Red-and-White Cabinet at the Hambalang residence. The meetings took place throughout the afternoon and evening.

Among those present were the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Brian Yuliarto, Defence Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, Deputy Defence Minister Donny Ermawan, Rector of the Defence University Anton Nugroho, and President Director of PT Pindad Sigit Santosa.

In these meetings, the President requested updates on several strategic domestic and international issues, including:

  1. Development progress of ten new campuses in the fields of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) and medical education.

  2. Progress in developing several state universities to improve their global rankings and facilitate increased cooperation with leading universities worldwide.

  3. The situation in the Middle East.

  4. Developments concerning Palestinian students studying at the Defence University.

“During his tenure as Defence Minister, since 2022 President Prabowo has invited 20-40 Palestinian children to study in Indonesia, and the numbers have now reached nearly 200 students,” wrote the Cabinet Secretariat’s official Instagram account.

  1. Security readiness and smooth operations ahead of the exodus for Eid al-Fitr celebrations, with ten days remaining.
