Presidential Secretary Teddy Reveals Details of Prabowo's Meeting with King Abdullah in Jordan
President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto held a meeting with the King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein, at the Basman Palace, Amman, on Wednesday (25/2/2026) local time. The meeting discussed a number of strategic regional issues, particularly regarding efforts to promote peace in Gaza, Palestine, and strengthen coordination among countries in the Middle East.
Deputy Minister for State Affairs, Teddy Indra Wijaya, who accompanied Prabowo during the meeting, explained that the meeting discussed follow-up actions on the dynamics and results of communication between countries in the region.
“Following up on the first Board of Peace (BoP) meeting with Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, and other member countries of the BoP,” said Teddy in an official statement as quoted on Thursday (26/2/2026).
In this context, Prabowo and King Abdullah II also discussed strengthening the role of Indonesia and Jordan in handling the situation in Gaza. Teddy said that Jordan is considered to have a strategic position in supporting humanitarian access and regional diplomacy.
“Jordan is one of the land, sea, and air entry points,” he said.
In addition, the two leaders also discussed a long-term solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. According to Teddy, the discussion reaffirmed that Indonesia and Jordan have aligned views in promoting a just and sustainable solution for Palestine.
“Discussion on the two-state solution,” said Teddy.
As a conclusion to the series of meetings, King Abdullah II personally escorted President Prabowo to the airport, even driving the vehicle carrying them both.
