State Secretary Minister (Mensesneg) Prasetyo Hadi has said that the finalisation of the Presidential Regulation (Perpres) concerning online transportation, particularly online motorcycle taxis (ojol), will soon be completed.

This was conveyed by Prasetyo following a meeting with the leadership of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) to discuss the ojol Perpres at the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Monday, 10 August 2026.

Also present at the meeting were UMKM Minister Maman Abdurrahman, Manpower Minister (Menaker) Yassierli, and Transportation Minister (Menhub) Dudy Purwagandhi.

“Be patient, it has just been completed,” Prasetyo told journalists.

Prasetyo expressed hope that the ojol Perpres can be announced before 17 August 2026. Under the new regulation, the status of ojol drivers will become part of the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) entity.

“Hopefully it can be done before 17 August. This is a matter of administration. Yes, ojol will have the status of UMKM actors,” he said.

Meanwhile, UMKM Minister Maman Abdurrahman also confirmed that the status of ojol drivers under the new Perpres will be that of UMKM actors.

“That has indeed been agreed upon by everyone,” said Maman.

Maman explained that there are many benefits that ojol drivers can enjoy with this new status. One of them is access to various government incentive policy packages.

“There are several advantages. First, for example, in terms of time flexibility. God willing, with their UMKM status, our ojol friends and relatives will have time flexibility,” he said.

“Secondly, they will be able to enjoy several incentive policy packages for UMKM,” concluded Maman.
