Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The government will soon issue a Presidential Regulation on online motorcycle taxis (ojol). The regulation will cover all areas of work carried out by ojol drivers, including transport services, courier services, and food delivery.
Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Sufmi Dasco Ahmad said the meeting was attended by representatives of the DPR, Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Meutya Hafid, Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi, Minister of SMEs Maman Abdurrahman, State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Minister of Manpower Yassierli and several other cabinet members.
“Alhamdulillah, we have completed the finalisation because what is regulated is not only for passenger transport ojol services,” he said on Tuesday (18/8/2026).
He explained that the presidential regulation will cover all services offered by ojol drivers. Fares for each service will then be set by regulations at the relevant ministries.
“This now includes goods and food transport, where fares for goods and food will be regulated by Komdigi, passenger transport fares will be regulated by the Ministry of Transportation. Online transport operators will be under the auspices of the Ministry of SMEs,” said Dasco.
