Presidential Palace Welcomes 200 Students from Three Schools
Jakarta (ANTARA) – A total of 200 students from SMA PGRI Bantargadung in Sukabumi, SMA Puhua School in Purwokerto and SMP Hati Kudus in Jakarta visited the Jakarta Presidential Palace complex to learn more about its history and role as a national symbol.
According to an official post by the Cabinet Secretariat, cited in Jakarta on Thursday, students from the three schools visited the Presidential Palace that day as part of the Palace for Schoolchildren programme.
In line with the programme’s aims, the 200 students were taught about the history, function and role of the Presidential Palace as both a national symbol and the centre of government. They also learned about the history of Indonesia’s national leadership and viewed various historical artefacts in the palace complex. The visit also covered national values, which are an important part of the country’s history.
The Palace for Schoolchildren programme is intended to give students learning experiences not only in the classroom but also directly within the Presidential Palace. These experiences are expected to broaden their historical knowledge, encourage a spirit of learning, and strengthen their patriotism and pride as the nation’s next generation.
The programme began on 7 April 2026.
Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya said after the event on Tuesday (7 April) that the policy was part of the government’s commitment to improving the quality of human resources. He said this commitment was also reflected in priority programmes including nutritious meals, school renovations, the provision of educational facilities and improvements to teachers’ welfare.
