Presidential Palace to Host Eid al-Fitr Open House for 5,000 People
The Presidential Palace in Jakarta will host an open house, or gelar griya, on Saturday, 21 March 2026, starting at 12:00 WIB. This Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah celebration is open to the general public.
Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that the government is preparing a halal bihalal event as an opportunity for community members to visit the palace and foster social bonds. Teddy explained that the open house at the palace is planned to run from afternoon to evening, with a capacity of 5,000 people.
On this occasion, the government will provide various traditional Eid dishes such as ketupat. Additionally, there will be simple entertainment for children accompanying their families. “If the public wishes to visit with their families, they are welcome to stop by the palace for Eid al-Fitr,” said Teddy during his visit to Medan, North Sumatra, on Friday, 20 March 2026.
Visitors will be served in rotations in the palace’s hall. According to Teddy, the government has also prepared additional facilities, including tents in the outdoor area, to handle any overflow beyond the indoor capacity. “If it doesn’t fit inside, tents have been prepared outside by the Minister Secretary of State, and visitors will enter in turns,” he said.
President Prabowo performed Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah prayers in Aceh Tamiang, Aceh, after celebrating the takbiran night in Medan, North Sumatra. Teddy said President Prabowo will conduct the Eid prayers while checking the progress of post-flood disaster management in the affected Sumatra regions. “We all flew to Aceh to pray Eid there with the local community, especially in Aceh, and also to check on the situation,” Teddy remarked.
He was accompanied by Minister Secretary of State Prasetyo Hadi, Deputy Minister of Agriculture Sudaryono, Foreign Minister Sugiono, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, and Head of the Government Public Communication Agency Angga Raka Prabowo.
