Presidential Palace Reveals Replacement Constitutional Court Justice for Anwar Usman to be Sworn In This Week
The selection committee (pansel) has announced the high court judges who passed the selection for the candidate Constitutional Court justice replacing Anwar Usman. The Presidential Palace has revealed that the inauguration of the Constitutional Court (MK) justice replacing Anwar Usman will take place this week.
“It is planned as soon as possible this week,” said State Secretary (Mensesneg) Prasetyo Hadi at the Presidential Palace complex in Jakarta on Wednesday (8/4/2026).
Prasetyo stated that the name of the justice had been received from the Supreme Court (MA).
“Yes,” he said.
However, Prasetyo declined to reveal the name of the MK justice candidate. He asked the public to wait until it is officially announced.
“It will be announced later,” he said.
For context, the pansel has announced the high court judges who passed the selection for the Constitutional Court justice candidate replacing Anwar Usman. The selection results are based on a meeting held by the pansel.
According to the official Supreme Court website, on Tuesday (10/3), this pansel is chaired by the Deputy Chief Justice of the MA for Judicial Affairs, Suharto. The pansel has produced three names of high court judges as candidates to replace Anwar Usman.
The announcement was signed on 9 March 2026 by Suharto. The announcement with Number: 46 WKMA.Y/KP1.1/III/2026 concerns the Results of the Open Selection for Constitutional Court Justice Candidates from the Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia Element for the 2026 Fiscal Year.
“Based on the results of Paper Writing, Decision Annotation Writing, and Eligibility Testing/Interview that have been conducted by the Open Selection Committee for Constitutional Court Justice Candidates from the Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia Element for the 2026 Fiscal Year, hereby the results of the selection of 3 (three) best participants based on the highest ranking scores compiled in alphabetical order are conveyed,” the announcement states.
