The government is conducting a public poll for citizens to determine the logo for the 81st Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia on 17 August 2026. The public can decide through a vote which logo will become the official emblem for the 81st Independence Day via the website logohutri.istanapresiden.go.id. “From 24 to 28 June 2026, the public can participate in choosing the logo for the 81st Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia through the official channel prepared by the government, which will be launched shortly,” said Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya on Wednesday (24/6). “A total of five alternative best logo designs will be announced for the public to then choose from,” he added. Teuku explained that the five logos on the site are a curation from a competition participated in by 124 entrants from various regions across Indonesia. He stated that public involvement is important as a space for national participation. Teuku said this step was taken with the hope of building a sense of ownership, so that the chosen logo truly becomes a symbol of pride for all Indonesian people. At the same time, Deputy Minister of State Secretary Juri Ardiantoro explained that the competition was participated in by professional graphic designers from various regions in Indonesia. He noted that the five designs now entering the polling stage also represent the regions involved. Juri conveyed that the five candidates originate from Surakarta, Padang, Bali, Malang, and Batam. Juri stated that the government has also determined the theme for the 81st Independence Day commemoration, titled ‘A Sovereign, Just, and Prosperous Indonesia’. He also invited all Indonesian people to actively participate and take a role in this year’s 81st Independence Day commemoration. Juri explained that the organising committee for the 81st Independence Day has also prepared a number of prizes for members of the public who participate in this logo selection. “Namely, 100 invitations to attend the proclamation seconds ceremony. Then another 100 are souvenirs, usually received by invited guests of the independence commemoration ceremony, which will be sent to the selected individuals concerned. We are also providing 100 educational grants for the selected members of the public,” he said.
