Presidential Palace guarantees professional law enforcement under Prabowo

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Presidential Palace has guaranteed that the law enforcement process under the leadership of President Prabowo Subianto will be conducted professionally and transparently to address public doubts regarding a corruption case.

“God willing, under the administration of President Prabowo Subianto, this law enforcement will be prudent, clear, and transparent,” said Special Presidential Adviser for Communication and Media Hasan Nasbi to journalists at the Presidential Palace complex in Jakarta on Monday.

Hasan made the statement in response to concerns about a potential decline in public trust over the handling of a case involving former Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) Febrie Adriansyah by the Attorney General’s Office.

He assured the public that there is no need to worry about the government’s commitment to cleaning up corrupt practices. According to him, all legal processes are being carried out carefully without any differential treatment.

“So, God willing, you do not need to worry about that,” said Hasan.

The case involving Febrie Adriansyah originated from an investigation by the National Police’s Corruption Eradication Corps (Kortastipidkor) into alleged gratuities and money laundering offences during his handling of several corruption cases.

Febrie resigned from his position as Jampidsus on 11 July 2026, coinciding with the police’s announcement of his suspect status. Febrie’s legal process is currently at the intensive investigation stage by the Attorney General’s Office after his case file was transferred from the National Police’s Kortastipidkor.

Febrie underwent his first examination as a suspect for 11 hours at the Round Building of the Attorney General’s Office on Friday (17/7) last week. During the examination, Febrie was accompanied by his legal counsel, Hotman Paris Hutapea, and was asked 18 questions regarding the alleged flow of funds and the substance of the case. To date, Febrie has not been detained as he is considered cooperative by investigators, although he has been officially placed on an overseas travel ban.
