State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi has confirmed that the government currently has no plans to reshuffle the Red and White Cabinet. This statement dismisses speculation regarding a change in the position of Finance Minister, currently held by Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa. “There is no plan for a replacement. What we need now is strong, intensive coordination between the Ministry of Finance, Bank Indonesia, the Financial Services Authority, and of course under the coordination of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs. So, there is no such plan yet,” Prasetyo told reporters on Thursday (4/6). It was previously reported that Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa had firmly denied rumours of his resignation from the state treasury. “Not true,” Purbaya said briefly when confirmed in Jakarta on Thursday evening. The resignation rumours surfaced after Purbaya attended a Plenary Meeting at the House of Representatives regarding the revision of the Law on the Development and Strengthening of the Financial Sector. On that occasion, he also presented the government’s views on the Macroeconomic Framework and Fiscal Policy Principles before parliamentary factions. Far from resigning, Purbaya instead outlined the maintained state of national fiscal health. He revealed that by the end of May 2026, the state budget deficit was at a controlled level of 0.7% of gross domestic product, supported by tax revenue growth reaching 22% year-on-year.
