Presidential Office: Erdogan receives Hamas delegation in Istanbul
Ankara (ANTARA) - Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with a delegation from the Palestinian Hamas movement in Istanbul to discuss the situation in the Gaza Strip, the Turkish presidential office stated on Saturday. “President Recep Tayyip Erdogan received a delegation from Hamas at the Dolmabahce Working Office in Istanbul. During the meeting, the latest situation in Gaza was discussed,” the office said. No other details were given regarding the meeting. Earlier that day, the Egyptian television station Al Qahera News, citing several sources, reported that Egypt had hosted negotiations related to Gaza over the past two days, attended by mediators as well as the High Representative of the Peace Council for Gaza, Nickolay Mladenov. Hamas and Palestinian factions emphasised their commitment to implementing the steps set out in the ceasefire agreement.
