Presidential Letter for New National Police Chief, DPR Immediately Conducts Suitability Test for Komjen Suyudi

Commission III of the DPR has immediately conducted a fit and proper test for Komjen Suyund Ario Seto as a candidate for the National Police Chief. The suitability test was held after the DPR received a presidential letter (surpres) regarding the proposal for the dismissal and appointment of the National Police Chief.

This was revealed by the Chairman of Commission III of the DPR, Habiburokhman, during a meeting at the DPR building in Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday (30/09/2026). Habiburokhman stated that the DPR has received a letter from President Prabowo Subianto.

“This morning, the DPR leadership received a letter from the President, Number R57/Pres/09/2026, dated 30 September 2026, regarding the proposal for dismissal from the position of National Police Chief and appointment to the position of National Police Chief,” said Habiburokhman.

Habiburokhman noted that Commission III of the DPR has subsequently been tasked with conducting the fit and proper test. He confirmed that Komjen Suyudi Ario Seto will undergo the evaluation process.

“Therefore, as per the meeting of the DPR Consultative Body held today, 30 September, Commission III has been assigned to conduct the suitability test for Komjen Suyudi Ario Seto as the National Police Chief,” said Habiburokhman.

“Is this agreed upon, colleagues?” he asked the meeting participants.

“Agreed,” the participants responded.
