Presidential Decree on New Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes Expected This Week

Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi has stated that the presidential decree (Keppres) regarding the name of the new Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) will be completed this week. ‘God willing, we will finalise the process this week,’ he said when met at the parliamentary complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Monday. According to him, his party is currently in the finalisation stage before the Keppres is announced to the public. Prasetyo previously stated that the Palace had received a letter from Attorney General ST Burhanuddin containing a proposal for the name of the new Jampidsus, replacing Febrie Adriansyah who resigned. Met after a meeting at the DPR Building in Jakarta on Wednesday (15/7), Prasetyo, who also serves as Presidential Spokesperson, said the letter was sent on Tuesday (14/7). ‘As of yesterday, the Attorney General has officially sent a letter to the President to propose a name to replace the Jampidsus official who recently submitted his resignation,’ he said. ‘Yes, based on the letter,’ he added. Besides Kuntadi, the Attorney General also proposed other names. However, Prasetyo did not detail the identities or positions of these candidates. ‘There are, but I apologise, I do not memorise each name or position. In due time, once the decision is made, we will certainly convey it to our media colleagues and to the public,’ he said.
