Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak said the Presidential Decree on the completion of payments for the 2027 Hajj is expected to be finalised this week. Once it is issued, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah will promptly publicise the payment requirements to prospective pilgrims.

“God willing, the decree will be completed this week; after that, we just need to publicise it,” Dahnil said on Tuesday (27 October 2026).

Dahnil explained that confirmation of the amount due is important for preparations for other Hajj services.

He said the ministry would announce the amount prospective pilgrims must pay once the decree had been issued. The figure will differ by region, depending on several factors, particularly distance and flight costs.

Prospective pilgrims should prepare an average of around Rp23 million for the final payment, Dahnil said. This is not a fixed amount for all pilgrims, as the cost varies between regions.

“Makassar and Surabaya, for example, will certainly have different costs. Medan and Jakarta will also differ. Each province will have a different amount, depending on distance, flight costs and so on,” Dahnil said.

The average cost of organising the 1448 Hijri/2027 Hajj was previously set at Rp98,466,351 per person. Of this amount, Rp54,648,825, or 55.50 per cent, is paid directly by pilgrims, while Rp43,817,526, or 44.50 per cent, comes from the returns generated by the management of Hajj funds.

The direct payment component consists of pilgrims’ initial deposits of Rp25 million, Rp3.4 million in returns credited to their virtual accounts, a government subsidy of Rp3.2 million, and a final payment of Rp23,048,825.
