Presidential Chief of Staff Listens to Children's Aspirations Ahead of National Children's Day
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister for Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection Arifah Fauzi, together with Head of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP) Dudung Abdurachman, held a dialogue with the National Children’s Forum (FAN) and regional Children’s Forums (FAD) from the Greater Jakarta area to listen to the aspirations of Indonesian children.
“Ahead of National Children’s Day commemorations, the Children’s Forum gathered input and aspirations from children across various regions, from the sub-district, regency/city and provincial levels up to the national level. From this process, twelve issues have been formulated along with recommended solutions, compiled in the Voice of Indonesian Children,” said Minister Arifah Fauzi in a statement in Jakarta on Thursday.
The event served as a space for children’s participation to convey their aspirations, experiences and ideas directly to the Head of the Presidential Staff Office, as part of efforts to fulfil children’s rights, particularly the right to be heard and to participate in the development process.
The Children’s Forum is a child participation platform established by the government from the village or neighbourhood level, through sub-districts, regencies/cities and provinces, up to the national level.
Through the Children’s Forum, children carry out their role as Pioneers and Reporters (2P) in their respective communities.
Meanwhile, Head of the Presidential Staff Office Dudung Abdurachman expressed appreciation for the various inputs conveyed by the Children’s Forum.
According to him, the twelve aspiration points contained in the Voice of Indonesian Children constitute valuable input for the government in refining policies related to children.
He affirmed that the KSP will continue to oversee the implementation of various presidential priority programmes supporting the fulfilment of children’s rights, particularly in education, such as Free Nutritious Meals, People’s Schools, Garuda Schools and school revitalisation, so that every Indonesian child receives a quality education.
“We are confident that through the momentum of National Children’s Day, if our children continue to be supported by the various efforts undertaken by the government, God willing, Golden Indonesia will be realised. The President deeply loves Indonesian children; therefore, we will continue to coordinate with the Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection to provide the best for Indonesian children,” said Dudung Abdurachman.
