President Zelensky's Eid al-Fitr Message: Highlights War in the Middle East and Solidarity for Ukrainian Muslims
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy conveyed Eid al-Fitr 1447 H greetings while expressing profound concern over the conflicts raging in the Persian Gulf region during the holy month of Ramadan. In his official statement, Zelensky stressed the importance of protecting lives worldwide and offered security partnerships to countries affected by drone and missile attacks. The statement was delivered via the social media platform X, as monitored from Jakarta on Saturday (21/3/2026). “Eid al-Fitr greetings to all Muslims in Ukraine and around the world,” Zelensky said. He highlighted that during this sacred month, wars causing significant global impacts continue in the Persian Gulf area. According to him, “Iran’s horrific attacks, with drones and missiles, target peaceful cities.” Zelensky emphasised the need to protect human lives in every region. “For the people of Ukraine, who also face such challenges every day, terror must not prevail anywhere,” he stated. To this end, Ukraine will soon offer security partnerships to affected countries, with specialised teams already on site to strengthen life protection. The Ukrainian President also recalled the difficulties faced by the Muslim community in his country, who are celebrating Eid al-Fitr amid the war with Russia entering its fifth year. He spotlighted the Crimean Tatar population, predominantly Muslim, who must celebrate the holiday “under occupation” since Russia entered the territory in 2014. Zelensky concluded his message with hopes for peace, strength, and prosperity for all Muslim families. “May this festive day bring blessings and strengthen faith and cooperation among those who always defend life. May peace draw nearer for everyone!” he said.
