President urges young civil servants to avoid bureaucratic red tape

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony for young civil servants at the Institute of Public Administration (IPDN) campus in Sumedang, West Java, on Wednesday, the President emphasized that civil servants have a duty to uphold the nation’s reputation by delivering quality public services.

“Our people do not need a complicated bureaucracy. Our people do not need leaders who do not do their absolute best,” Prabowo stressed.

According to the President, the public needs officials who work with honesty and discipline, are free from corruption, have the courage to make decisions, and are always present to help those in need.

He emphasized that citizens will judge the state through the attitudes, decisions, and integrity demonstrated by young civil servants in performing their duties.

“It is the people who will feel whether the state cares about them or not. Based on the decisions you make, the public will judge whether the state is worthy of trust,” he said.

President Prabowo urged the civil servants to do their utmost, noting that good service bolsters public trust in the state, while poor service can erode it.

He also reminded the newly inaugurated officials to maintain their integrity as future bureaucratic leaders who will determine the success of Indonesia’s development efforts on the ground.

At Wednesday’s event, President Prabowo officially inaugurated 1,204 young civil servants graduating from IPDN. During their education at the institution, students are trained to become competent, principled, and strong-willed administrative leaders.
