President urges students to study hard and maintain politeness
President Prabowo Subianto has delivered a message to students of Sekolah Rakyat, urging them to study hard in their pursuit of education to improve their families’ fortunes and to always remain polite.
“We must work hard; everyone must work hard. Students must study well, study hard, study with discipline, and obey their teachers. Always love your parents; your parents work hard for you, and whatever their job may be, it is very noble. You must eventually uplift your parents; you are your parents’ hope,” said President Prabowo while visiting Sekolah Rakyat Menengah Pertama 17 Tabanan in Bali, as monitored online from Jakarta on Sunday.
He also requested that students always maintain good manners, act kindly towards others, and refrain from disparaging others. The Head of State highlighted that these qualities are key components of success.
“Not just you, even I am often mocked even now; even the President is often mocked, and that is fine. What matters is that your heart is steadfast and our hearts are good. If we are mocked, we respond with politeness; the more we are insulted, the more steadfast, brave, and polite you should become. When insulted, remain polite; do not be disheartened,” Prabowo remarked.
On this occasion, the President also called for the accelerated establishment of Sekolah Rakyat in Bali, as there is currently only one location. This is in line with the target of the priority programme to reach children from vulnerable groups across all regions to ensure they can access education.
“We must increase them as quickly as possible. We will endeavour to work with regents; if necessary, the central government will find the land. We will make it happen,” stated President Prabowo Subianto.
