President University Appoints Three New Professors to Strengthen Research Quality
Jakarta (ANTARA) - President University has inaugurated three new professors as a strategic step to strengthen its academic pillar and increase scholarly contributions at both national and international levels.
Secretary of the Directorate General of Science and Technology of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, M. Samsuri, stated in Jakarta on Wednesday that achieving the position of professor is not merely a personal accomplishment but a mandate to uphold academic integrity.
He hopes that the presence of these new professors will spark more massive innovation growth, especially in the Jababeka industrial area where the university is located.
“We hope that more professors will emerge from President University, so that research quality continues to develop and President University can become a source of pride, even a ‘flower’ blooming in the Jababeka area,” said Samsuri.
In addition to strengthening research, the addition of these professors is expected to enhance the campus’s academic image amid tight competition and higher education requirements in Indonesia.
Meanwhile, Rector of President University, Dr. Handa Abidin, stated that this achievement is the fruit of the institution’s hard work in facilitating lecturers to reach the peak of their academic careers.
“About 18 years ago, they graduated from President University. Today, they are inaugurated as professors at President University. This shows that President University not only produces graduates but also nurtures academics from its own alumni,” said Dr. Handa.
Through this inauguration, President University is optimistic about continuing to produce innovations beneficial to the wider community and strengthening Indonesia’s position on the global science stage.
The three professors inaugurated are Prof. Dr. Anton Wachidin Widjaja, S.E., M.M., Prof. Dr.-Ing. Erwin Parasian Sitompul, S.T., M.Sc., and Prof. Jhanghiz Syahrivar, S.E., M.M., Ph.D.
To date, President University has a total of eight active professors contributing in various fields of science.
The inauguration, held in two separate sessions in April 2026, marks the university’s commitment to advancing knowledge through outstanding academics in their respective fields.
