US President Donald Trump stated that the war with Iran will soon be resolved. He made this remark while at the FII Priority Summit in Miami Beach on Friday (28/3/2026). According to him, the war has actually subsided but is not yet fully over. “It’s kind of over, but not really over. It needs to be finished,” Trump said, quoted from Kompas.com on Saturday (28/3/2026). “We know this will go smoothly,” he added. While the international community refers to the armed conflict in the Middle East as a war, Trump does not. He calls it a military operation. “We call it a military operation. We don’t call it a war. We call it a military operation,” he said. “I think we’ll go down further (stock indices), and I think oil prices will surge higher. When this war ends, it will be like a rocket. It’s not over yet,” he explained. What Trump said about the surge in oil prices is indeed true. Meanwhile, the global benchmark Brent crude strengthened 4.22% to $112.57 (Rp 1,912,654) per barrel. That figure is the highest since July 2022 after Russia’s attack on Ukraine. The impact of the conflict in the Middle East also affects Indonesia, with threats to energy imports from that region.
