President to visit Palembang

JAKARTA (JP): President Abdurrahman Wahid is due to arrive in Palembang, South Sumatra, on Thursday for a two-day visit, the Press and Media Bureau at the Presidential Secretariat announced on Wednesday.

The president and First Lady Sinta Nuriyah will depart from Halim Perdanakusumah airport, East Jakarta on Thursday afternoon.

During the visit President Abdurrahman will meet local figures and religious leaders at the state-owned fertilizer company Pusri's Musi Hall.

The President will also attend Friday prayers at Palembang Grand Mosque before returning to Jakarta.(hdn)
