President to Civil Servants: Your Salaries Are Not Enough But the People's Are Worse
President Prabowo Subianto called on all state apparatus to continue working professionally. According to him, every state apparatus has an obligation to close corruption loopholes, even though their salaries are just adequate.
Prabowo emphasised that when every state apparatus feels their salary is not enough, in reality, the salaries received by the majority of Indonesians are even smaller. He stressed that working in government is a service to the people.
“We understand, I get it, your salaries might not be sufficient but if you look at our people, it’s worse for them than for us. We must understand that working in government is a service, working for the government in administration is a service,” Prabowo asserted during the Handover of Administrative Fines and State Financial Recovery as well as the Reclamation of Forest Areas Phase VI at the Attorney General’s head office, South Jakarta, Friday (10/4/2026).
Therefore, he invited all state servants to continue striving to close every corruption loophole, so that development can continue to create prosperity for all Indonesian people.
“I continue to urge, I invite persuasively, with an approach, humanely, as fellow Indonesians, as fellow children of the archipelago, I invite, let us close practices that are not good, let us close them,” he stated.
“Cheating the people, cheating superiors, backing bad practices, illegal mining smuggling, illegal plantations, I urge, let us all who are entrusted by the people carry out the duties given by the people well,” the Head of State emphasised.
