President Summons Police Chief to Hambalang Today, What's the Matter?

President Prabowo Subianto summoned Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo to his Hambalang residence on Friday, 24 April 2026. The meeting was uploaded on the Cabinet Secretariat’s Instagram account. It was explained that the meeting lasted around one hour and discussed several matters related to national security and the general national situation in various strategic sectors. The Cabinet Secretariat account revealed that the Police Chief also reported on the developments of several strategic police programmes. Some of the reported items included strengthening the digital transformation of public services, improving the professionalism of members from recruitment to service, and efforts to maintain security and public order sustainably by involving all elements of society. “In addition, synergies between the Police and various related institutions and sectors were discussed to strengthen national programmes, both in the agriculture, food, nutritious eating, rapid disaster handling, and improvement of public services,” stated the Cabinet Secretariat’s Instagram account, quoted on Friday. Besides summoning the Police Chief, President Prabowo also received the Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of BKPM as well as Head of Danantara, Rosan Perkasa Roeslani. Two matters were discussed in that meeting, namely the developments of the downstreaming programme which will soon be built at 13 locations in Indonesia. Then, discussing several investors who will invest in Indonesia, especially in the fields of Waste to Energy, Mineral Resources, and Agribusiness Industry, Labour Intensive, and Garments. President Prabowo wants downstreaming not only in the energy and mineral sectors but also to be expanded in the agriculture and fisheries sectors.
