"President Solution" Book Reveals Prabowo's Steps to Strengthen Defence and Security Posture
Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto has implemented various policies to address issues within the defence and security sectors, as revealed in the book titled ‘President Solution: Problem Solving Ala Prabowo Subianto’.
Launched at the University Club in South Jakarta on Monday, the book was authored by the Head of the Government Communications Agency (BAKOM), M. Qodari, Special Assistant to the President for Communication and Policy Analysis, Digayuza Setiawan, and Special Assistant to the President for Strategic Data Analysis, Agung Gumilar Saputra.
The book explains that President Prabowo has identified three primary issues regarding the national defence and security posture and has provided immediate solutions to these problems.
The first problem identified by President Prabowo concerns the Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU) lagging behind neighbouring countries. In response, the President took swift action by initiating the massive procurement of transport aircraft, fighter jets, and superior supporting equipment, including Airbus A400 transport aircraft and Dassault Aviation’s Rafale fighter jets.
The second problem identified by the President is that 17 provinces currently lack a Regional Military Command (Kodam). The President’s solution involves ordering the construction of 17 new Kodams and the gradual recruitment of new TNI personnel through 2029.
The President also identified a third problem in the national defence and security posture: the Indonesian Navy (TNI AL) lacking sufficient patrol vessels to secure Indonesian waters. The President’s solution is to immediately procure patrol vessels for the Navy from the best domestic and international shipyards, as well as the massive acquisition of decommissioned foreign naval vessels that remain seaworthy, such as the KRI Brawijaya (320), formerly an Italian naval vessel.
The book records 108 problems resolved by President Prabowo Subianto within an 18-month period. These 108 problems are categorised into 13 major themes:
