“Brothers and sisters, we are under attack. Whenever the Indonesian nation rises, it is attacked fiercely.”

Jakarta (ANTARA) – President Prabowo Subianto said Indonesia’s resurgence is often disrupted by various foreign parties seeking the wealth of the archipelago.

“Brothers and sisters, we are under attack. Whenever the Indonesian nation rises, it is attacked fiercely,” President Prabowo said as he opened a plenary Cabinet meeting at the Presidential Palace complex in Jakarta on Wednesday.

He said some nations were unhappy with the formation of Indonesia and that various parties had interfered with the country since its birth.

In response, the President stressed that Indonesia would not deal with such actions naively or by trying to please others. He said this approach was intended to prevent the country’s wealth from being taken by foreign parties.

The President cited smuggling as one example, including inward smuggling of narcotics to weaken the nation and outward smuggling of natural resources.

“We must defend ourselves; we must safeguard our wealth. Our wealth, our natural resources, are like our blood. If we continue to lose blood, our bodies cannot survive. Ladies and gentlemen, we are in a position where we have to survive,” the President said.

Prabowo said ministers and Cabinet members were among the nation’s finest sons and daughters, who had worked hard and delivered commendable performance in carrying out the mandate given by the people.

The plenary Cabinet meeting was held under the theme “The First Two Years of the Government: Real Work for the Nation 2026” and was attended by members of the Red and White Cabinet, including Vice-President Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
