President returns home after state visit to France

Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto arrived in the country and landed at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base in Jakarta on Saturday after completing a state visit to France from 27-29 May 2026.

In online monitoring from Jakarta on Saturday, the presidential aircraft carrying President Prabowo Subianto landed at approximately 09.58 WIB after departing from Paris, France on Friday, 29 May local time.

President Prabowo’s arrival at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base was greeted by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming, Defence Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin and General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, National Police Chief.

During the flight to Jakarta, President Prabowo was accompanied by a limited delegation, including Foreign Minister Sugiono and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.

Previously, the Presidential Secretariat’s official statement said President Prabowo’s departure from Orly Airport in Paris was marked by a military ceremony.

During his state visit to Paris, President Prabowo began his agenda with a state reception ceremony at Les Invalides and a bilateral meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Elysee Palace in Paris.

He then attended a state dinner hosted by Macron at the Salle des Fêtes in the Elysee Palace. During his state visit, President Prabowo also performed Eid al-Adha prayers with Indonesian citizens and the diaspora at the Indonesian Embassy in Paris.

Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that the official state visit had resulted in four new commercial agreements focused on energy security, trade, and defence cooperation. He confirmed this in Jakarta on Friday, 29 May, stating the outcomes were concrete results of President Prabowo’s meeting with French President Macron at the Elysee Palace.
