Jakarta (ANTARA) - Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that President Prabowo Subianto received a report from the Army Chief of Staff, General TNI Maruli Simanjuntak, regarding the completion of 300 pioneer bridges built in various regions of Indonesia over the past three months.

The report was delivered by Maruli to President Prabowo during a limited meeting at Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on Thursday (16/4), which was also attended by CabSec Teddy, State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi, and TNI AD senior officials, including Deputy KSAD Lieutenant General TNI Muhammad Saleh Mustafa.

“In the past three months, the TNI Army has completed the construction of 300 units of pioneer suspension bridges scattered throughout Indonesia,” said Teddy when contacted in Jakarta on Friday, explaining the content of the President’s meeting with the KSAD at the Palace on Thursday (16/4).

The acceleration of bridge construction and repairs has been a focus of President Prabowo’s administration at the beginning of 2026.

President Prabowo has specifically appointed KSAD General TNI Maruli Simanjuntak to lead the acceleration of pioneer bridge construction in various regions of Indonesia as Head of the Bridge Task Force.

In addition to building pioneer bridges, the TNI AD has also assisted in disaster-affected area recovery, including renovating hundreds of schools and providing clean water access in schools.

“In the past three months, the renovation of 300 schools in three disaster-impacted provinces in Sumatra has also been completed, including the construction of 300 clean water borehole points at those schools,” said Teddy.

He continued that the TNI AD does not work alone in implementing these various programmes. Cross-sector collaboration, particularly with the Ministry of Public Works, is key to accelerating the construction of public facilities up to rural and remote areas.

“The TNI Army collaborates with the Ministry of Public Works to complete all forms of public facilities in villages up to remote areas as quickly as possible. Of course, this cooperation is driven by the concern of the community in the construction location areas,” he said.
