President Provides Second Meugang Meat Assistance for Aceh Disaster Victims
This represents genuine concern from the central government towards the people of Aceh, particularly those facing the impacts of hydrometeorological disasters, said Aceh Governor Muzakir Manaf, also known as Mualem, in Banda Aceh on Tuesday.
Prior to the commencement of Ramadan, President Prabowo distributed meat to the people of Aceh with a budget of 72.7 billion rupiah, and now, approaching Eid al-Fitr, the same amount is being provided again.
The meugang meat assistance budget from the President, totalling 72.2 billion rupiah, has been distributed as follows: Lhokseumawe City, 550 million rupiah; Aceh Tamiang Regency, 10.5 billion rupiah; Pidie Jaya, 4.9 billion rupiah; and East Aceh, 7.55 billion rupiah.
Additionally, Bireuen Regency received 2.25 billion rupiah, Langsa City, 600 million rupiah, North Aceh, 19.55 billion rupiah, West Aceh, 1 billion rupiah, Pidie, 2 billion rupiah, Central Aceh, 6.05 billion rupiah, and Bener Meriah, 4.55 billion rupiah.
Mualem expressed gratitude and appreciation to President Prabowo Subianto for the cattle assistance for the meugang tradition in welcoming Eid al-Fitr for disaster victims in Aceh.
According to him, the cattle assistance represents the President’s attention towards the people of Aceh, and simultaneously supports the preservation of the meugang tradition that has deep roots in Aceh.
“On behalf of the Aceh Provincial Government and all the people of Aceh, we express our deepest gratitude to President Prabowo Subianto for this meugang cattle assistance,” he said.
He added that in the post-disaster situation, this assistance carries meaning beyond mere support for tradition. The assistance is seen as part of efforts to aid social recovery and bring happiness amid still-difficult conditions.
“We earnestly hope that President Prabowo can visit Aceh and celebrate Eid al-Fitr with the community. His presence would certainly bring great pride and joy to the people of Aceh,” said Mualem.
On this occasion, Aceh Vice Governor Fadhlullah stated that the Aceh government remains committed to monitoring various developments in the field regarding disaster management to ensure all mitigation stages proceed optimally.
This assistance forms part of collective efforts to ease the burden on communities. The Aceh government continues to ensure that hydrometeorological disaster management proceeds well, including supporting the recovery of community social life.
“With the cattle assistance from the President, the Aceh Government hopes that communities, particularly those affected by disasters, can still welcome Eid al-Fitr with joy and gratitude,” said Fadhlullah.
