President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subiente, will present decorations and honours to several figures, units, government institutions, organisations, and individuals deemed to have rendered significant service to the nation and state.

Deputy Minister of State Secretary, Juri Ardiantoro, stated during a press conference at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta on Friday that the conferment of these honours will take place at the State Palace as part of the series of commemorations for the 81st Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia.

“The decorations and honours will also be presented this year by the President of the Republic of Indonesia to individuals, units, government institutions, organisations, or specific figures for their extraordinary service, achievements, devotion, and loyalty to the nation and state,” said Juri.

He noted that the nominees for these honours come from various backgrounds and have undergone a rigorous selection process. “The candidates include representatives from various sectors, such as academics, religious leaders, artists, bureaucrats, and the military, as well as other prominent figures,” he added.

According to Juri, the selection process for the nominees is conducted strictly and transparently by the Council of Titles, Decorations, and Honours. The conferment of these honours is one of the key agendas within the national Independence Month celebrations for 2026.

In addition to the awards, the government is preparing several other programmes throughout August 2026, designated as Independence Month. These activities include the National Prayer and Dhikr on 1 August, the Presidential Speech on 14 August, the National Pilgrimage and Holy Reflection on 15 August, and the ceremony commemorating the Proclamation and the lowering of the National Flag on 17 August.

The government will also host a People’s Festival at the Monas area on 17 August and the ‘Merdeka Run’ as the concluding event of the 2026 Independence Month festivities.
