President Praises Agricultural Innovation, Jokes Other Countries Could Copy It

Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto expressed his appreciation for the series of innovations implemented in the agricultural sector to support the national food self-sufficiency program, even joking that other countries could copy the innovations that Indonesia has implemented.

“In the midst of the crisis, Indonesia has innovative sons and daughters who do not give up and are willing to seek knowledge,” said President Prabowo at the simultaneous corn harvest event and the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of 10 food security warehouses of the National Police in Tuban Regency, East Java, which was monitored online from Jakarta, Saturday.

Specifically, Prabowo highlighted the use of briquettes made from corn cob waste, as well as coal-based fertilizers, as part of the national food self-sufficiency program carried out by the National Police.

The President encouraged the implementation of these findings, including fertilizer innovations, to be implemented more widely to ensure national fertilizer independence.

On that occasion, the President even joked that foreign guests invited to attend the harvest festival would know the secrets of agriculture in Indonesia.

“I also made a mistake inviting them, they will know our findings. Well, it’s okay, for the sake of humanity, you can copy from Indonesia,” Prabowo joked.

At the beginning of the event, President Prabowo had the opportunity to see various innovations used by the National Police in managing corn plantations, including the use of fertilizers made from coal, the use of hybrid corn seeds, and the processing of corn cobs into briquettes.

In the corn harvest event for the second quarter of 2026 on agricultural land managed by the National Police, there are 36 regional police involved with a total land area of 189,760.36 hectares. Of that amount, 1,608.76 hectares of corn agricultural land were harvested simultaneously today.
