President Prabowo's Message in Bali: Do Not Give Up Despite Being Mocked
President Prabowo Subianto shared his personal experiences of frequently facing mockery to the students of Sekolah Rakyat Menengah Pertama (SRMP) 17 Tabanan, Bali. This gesture was intended to motivate children from low-income families to remain steadfast and never give up on pursuing their dreams.
“Not just you, I have often been mocked, and even now, the President is often mocked. It does not matter, as long as your heart is firm and our hearts are good,” said President Prabowo while providing guidance during his visit to inspect the Sekolah Rakyat Programme in Tabanan Regency on Sunday (7/6).
On this occasion, the Head of State urged all students not to be disheartened if they encounter bullying or insults from their surroundings. He emphasised that the best response to bad actions is to demonstrate one’s personal quality and politeness.
“If we are mocked, we respond with politeness. The more we are insulted, the firmer, the braver, and the more polite you should become,” he asserted before the students and teachers.
President Prabowo also reminded them that a difficult economic background is not an obstacle for the younger generation to achieve success. He referred to the many successful figures in Indonesia who were born into impoverished families but were able to persevere because they possessed a ‘steel mentality’.
“Many successful people come from very poor families, so many of them, but their children did not want to give up, their children did not despair, and their children remained joyful,” Prabowo remarked.
Concluding his remarks, the President left a message for students to study diligently, maintain discipline, respect teachers, and avoid hateful behaviour towards their peers for the sake of a better future for the nation.
