President Prabowo's France Visit Secures Four Deals Worth Rp61.25 Trillion
JAKARTA – President Prabowo Subianto’s visit to France resulted in four commercial agreements worth US$3.5 billion (Rp61.25 trillion), strengthening bilateral ties between the two countries.
Minister of Investment and Downstreaming and BKPM Head Rosan Roeslani said the agreements were reached during the launch of the France-Indonesia High Level Business Council on 28 May 2026.
“This forum is not only a platform for business dialogue but also a driver for promoting investment, trade, and strategic cooperation that delivers tangible benefits for both countries,” said Rosan.
The launch of the high-level business council was witnessed by President Prabowo Subianto and French President Emmanuel Macron.
The forum brought together 30 leading company executives and industry figures from Indonesia and France with a combined market capitalisation of US$1.3 trillion.
The business council is co-chaired by MEDEF International’s France-Indonesia Business Council Chair and Danone CEO Antoine de Saint-Affrique, along with Indonesia’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) Chairman Anindya Bakrie.
Rosan noted that French business confidence in Indonesia continues to grow alongside Indonesia’s position as a strategic partner with long-term growth prospects.
“French business confidence in Indonesia is rising. The agreements demonstrate that Indonesia is viewed as a strategic partner with strong long-term growth potential and an increasingly competitive investment climate,” Rosan said.
Looking ahead, the Indonesia-France Business Council aims to triple bilateral trade value by 2035 through enhanced cooperation between KADIN and Mouvement des Entreprises de France International.
President Prabowo Subianto returned to Indonesia on Saturday (30 May) after completing his working visit to France. His arrival at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base in Jakarta was greeted by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, Defence Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and Deputy Commander of the Armed Forces Lieutenant General Tandyo Budi Revita.
