President Prabowo's Eid al-Fitr Message: Let Us Strengthen Unity

President Prabowo Subianto has called on all Indonesians to strengthen unity and jointly build a just and strong nation. This invitation was conveyed by Prabowo in his Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah message.

The President began his message by extending congratulations on behalf of himself, his family, and the Government of the Republic of Indonesia. He also sought forgiveness, both physical and spiritual, from all members of society.

Prabowo urged that the momentum of Eid al-Fitr be used to forgive one another, strengthen familial relations, and bolster unity amid the nation’s various challenges. “Let us continue to strengthen our togetherness as one big Indonesian family,” said Prabowo in a video statement uploaded to the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube channel on Sunday, 22 March 2026.

In addition, Prabowo encouraged the public to continue working hard and helping one another to realise a more just, prosperous, and strong Indonesia. Concluding his message, the General Chairman of the Gerindra Party prayed that the Almighty God would bestow mercy and blessings upon all Indonesians.

On Saturday morning, 21 March 2026, President Prabowo performed Eid al-Fitr prayers in Aceh Tamiang, Aceh, after celebrating the night of takbiran in Medan, North Sumatra. That afternoon, Prabowo held a gelar griya or open house at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta.

Cabinet Secretary Lieutenant Colonel Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that the Palace was opened to the public as part of the President’s halalbihalal activities with the community. Subsequently, during this first day of Lebaran, former President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono was seen visiting Prabowo at the State Palace. The sixth President of Indonesia brought his child, son-in-law, and grandchildren. Yudhoyono was received by the Head of State after the halalbihalal event with the public.

The seventh President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), also attended Prabowo’s open house. Jokowi arrived with Iriana, Kaesang Pangarep, and his wife, Erina Gudono. Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka—Jokowi’s eldest son—was not present at the gathering.
