President Prabowo's Eid al-Adha Sacrificial Beef Distributed to Yogyakarta's Code Riverbank Residents
Yogyakarta (ANTARA) - Beef from President Prabowo Subianto’s Eid al-Adha sacrificial cattle has been distributed to low-income residents along the Code River. Yogyakarta Mayor Hasto Wardoyo stated on Wednesday that the beef would be distributed to residents around Kampung Gemblakan Bawah in Danurejan Kemantren, Yogyakarta. ‘The area was chosen due to its high population density and many low-income residents living along the Code Riverbank,’ Hasto said while monitoring the sacrificial cattle slaughter process at Giwangan Animal Slaughterhouse (RPH). According to him, 300 families in Kampung Gemblakan Bawah will receive the President’s sacrificial beef donation for Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijriah, consisting of Simmental Limousin cattle weighing one tonne in total. ‘Thus, the aid is hoped to bring happiness and strengthen community solidarity during Eid al-Adha,’ he said. Hasto noted the sacrificial cattle donation reflects the central government’s concern for the public, particularly those in need. He deemed the aid highly meaningful for beneficiaries. ‘Thank you, Mr President, for the one-tonne sacrificial cattle for Yogyakarta’s residents. It is very beneficial and brings joy to the community,’ he added. In addition to inspecting the RPH to ensure hygienic, safe, and professional slaughter processes, Hasto urged those conducting sacrifices outside the facility to maintain cleanliness and proper waste management. The Yogyakarta City Government has also requested sacrificial committees and mosque administrators to provide dedicated drainage channels to prevent slaughter waste from polluting the environment. ‘We urge that sacrificial animal slaughter processes maintain environmental cleanliness, especially waste management. Mosque administrators are expected to create dedicated drainage channels to prevent improper waste disposal,’ he added.
