President Prabowo warmly welcomed by Indonesian children in Seoul
President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto received a warm welcome from Indonesian diaspora children dressed in traditional attire upon arriving at the lobby of the hotel where he is staying in Seoul on Tuesday (31/3) evening, as part of his state visit. “Yes, happy, happy,” said Kaindra and Luthfi, two children tasked with handing over a bouquet of flowers to President Prabowo in Seoul, quoted from the Press, Media, and Information Bureau of the Presidential Secretariat in Jakarta on Wednesday. Kaindra and Luthfi expressed pride in getting a rare opportunity to meet the President directly as part of the state visit series. In addition to feeling proud, both also expressed feelings of nervousness when invited to chat directly by the President upon his arrival at the hotel. “Heart-pounding, really heart-pounding. Same, yeah,” said Kaindra about his feelings when welcoming the presence of the former Minister of Defence. Kaindra added that the President greeted them and asked their names during the bouquet handover ceremony as a welcome gesture. The two children also admitted to having undergone special training beforehand to overcome their nervousness in front of the President. “We practised a bit so as not to be nervous,” said Kaindra, who appeared in Javanese traditional attire along with Luthfi as a representation of Indonesian cultural identity in South Korea. During his stay in South Korea, the President is scheduled to carry out a series of state activities, including an official welcome ceremony by the President of South Korea at the Blue House. This high-level visit is expected to strengthen friendly relations and expand mutually beneficial strategic partnerships between Indonesia and South Korea in various sectors.
