President Prabowo Vows Zero Tolerance for Corruption in Healthcare Sector

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, has asserted that there must be no misappropriation or corruption within the health sector, specifically regarding the management of public health facilities.

“I also message that there must be no misappropriation and no corruption in the services provided to the people,” said President Prabowo during the inauguration of the Kiai Haji Muhammad Thohir Regional General Hospital (RSUD) in Krui, West Pesisir Regency, Lampung Province, on Wednesday, as quoted from a presidential press release in Jakarta.

The President emphasised that all levels of regional hospital management must implement transparent and professional institutional governance.

According to Prabowo, government-owned medical institutions in regional areas are obligated to prioritise optimal service orientation for the benefit of the wider community.

Health facilities constructed by the state are also required to maintain cleanliness within their operational environments to ensure patient comfort.

“The people and the community must feel the real benefits of the presence of this hospital,” said the President.

The President expressed his hope that RSUD KH Muhammad Thohir would be able to transform into a healthcare service centre that provides satisfaction to all elements of society in West Pesisir.

This principle of transparency is vital to ensure that all health budgets allocated by the government have a direct impact on the welfare of citizens.

Strict supervisory measures will continue to be implemented by the central government to ensure that regional health facilities remain free from practices involving the misappropriation of funds.

President Prabowo Subianto inaugurated RSUD KH Muhammad Thohir as part of an effort to expand access to healthcare services for people in regional areas.

During the inauguration, the President conveyed his hope that the existence of the hospital would enhance the quality of public healthcare services.
