President Prabowo urges ministers not to waver in facing national challenges

President Prabowo Subianto has urged all ministers of the Red and White Cabinet not to waver in facing the nation’s various problems and to remain confident, as the government has resolved many strategic issues during its 18 months in office. “We have been given a mandate by the people to face and solve problems. So, we must not be afraid of problems, we must not be afraid of difficulties, we must not be afraid of shortcomings,” Prabowo said while chairing a Plenary Cabinet Session at the State Palace in Jakarta on Monday. The president said the entire cabinet was chosen to find solutions to the challenges facing Indonesia, ranging from limited employment opportunities and poverty to inequality in society. According to the president, the government understands that these problems are real challenges that must be solved, not avoided. Prabowo admitted that after leading the government, he found some problems to be on a much larger scale than initially estimated, including economic leakages that have been going on for years. Nevertheless, the president believes the government has made progress in resolving these issues. The head of state said these results must be acknowledged as a form of appreciation for the efforts of the entire cabinet. According to the president, the Indonesian nation must be able to appreciate its own successes if it wants to earn the respect of other nations. “But if we achieve, we must admit that we have achieved. No other nation will respect us if we do not respect our own nation,” Prabowo said. The president added that a great nation is one that can honour and appreciate its heroes. The mid-year Plenary Cabinet Session was held as a forum to evaluate the implementation of government programmes ahead of the president’s state address in August 2026. During the session, President Prabowo also outlined a number of government achievements in the fields of food, energy, and the economy as part of the performance evaluation of the Red and White Cabinet.
